Our Screen Printing Process

Artwork Preparation

  • Design Creation: Start by creating or selecting the design you want to print. Ensure the design is in a high-resolution format suitable for printing.
  • Color Separation: Separate the design into different colors, as each color will require its own screen.

Screen Preparation

  • Screen Selection: Choose a screen with the appropriate mesh count based on the detail and type of ink being used.
  • Coating: Apply a light-sensitive emulsion to the screen and let it dry in a dark room.

Exposure

  • Film Positive: Print the design onto a transparent film, creating a positive image for each color.
  • Exposure: Place the film positive on the emulsion-coated screen and expose it to UV light. The light hardens the emulsion where the light passes through, creating a stencil of the design.

Screen Development

  • Washing: Rinse the screen with water to remove the unexposed emulsion, leaving a negative image of the design on the screen.
  • Drying: Allow the screen to dry completely before proceeding to the printing stage.

Setup

  • Screen Alignment: Position the screen onto the printing press and align it with the garment.
  • Ink Selection: Choose the appropriate ink for the design and garment type.

Printing

  • Ink Application: Pour the ink onto the screen and use a squeegee to spread the ink evenly across the screen, forcing it through the stencil onto the garment.
  • Curing: After printing, pass the garment through a heat tunnel or use a heat press to cure the ink, ensuring it adheres permanently to the fabric.

Quality Check and Finishing

  • Inspection: Check the printed garment for any defects or inconsistencies.
  • Packaging: Once the print is verified for quality, package the garment for shipping or delivery.
